A member asked:

I had reoccurring cornea abrasions every 2 months until putting in a tear duct plug with no problems for 4 months now. how long can i keep it in?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Until it falls out: The advantage of plugs is that they are easy to insert and can be removed if needed. They help maintain what tears you make but do not add any extra. The disadvantage is that they can fall out spontaneously. But it seems that as long as yours are in place, you will have the benefit.
