The inside of my ears itch frequently. and i often have what feels like crust in my ears. i'm assuming it's wax, but i clean my ears twice a day. why?

Stop cleaning ears: I think the compulsive cleaning of your ears is what is causing the problem. Itching of the ear canal is usually associated with dryness. The ear canal skin has a waxy coating which is normal and lubricates the ear canal. It is also beneficial in that it can be bactericidal. Your are washing away normal material. Stop cleaning your ears and use mineral oil for the itching.
