It depends...: First of all if you are sexually active any new abnormality in your regular period should be tested for pregnancy. Other possibilities: infection, anovulatory period( you didn't ovulate during that cycle), stress, or if you are taking birth control hormones. If it keeps happening I would suggest to get checked and tested for other problems which could also include hormonal imbalances
