That they can get it: ...And it is spread from one person to another by touching or intimate contact. Oral sex can also allow the virus to spread. A person is the most contagious when he/she has an active blister, but the virus can also be spread even when there isn’t a blister present. The best ways to avoid spreading or catching the virus is to not touch active blisters. Using condoms reduces the risk, but not 100%.
