Arthritis: Arthritis is inflammation of a joint and this can cause the look of bruising at some times in the knuckle joints,etc.

Need more info: Bruising of the knuckles implies that there was trauma to the skin. If the knuckles are swollen but not red then it may be as a result of his occupation. Also fist fights with or without gloves may cause bruising.

Explanation : May be you taking any vascular medications, or may be just cold weather causes this. Temperatures changes more often reason of this rffect
