A member asked:

How long does vomiting with strep throat last once antibiotics have been started? (my daughter is 11 mos. old and had a pos. strep test last night.)

A doctor has provided 1 answer

About a day: If a child has vomiting associated with their strep throat (and not everyone does by any means), it usually settles down about 24 hours after the first dose of medicine is taken. The two big things are if she is keeping down the medicine and keeping herself hydrated. If both of those things are happening, try to wait it out. If not, return to doctor for re-evaluation and alternatives, such as shot
