Ask Ablationist: Many instances call for continuation of Tykosin after an ablation. Speak with your electrophysiologist who performed the ablation about how long he expects you to continue it.

Not uncommon: In the first 2-3 months after ablation, episodes of atrial fibrillation can occur due to inflammation from the cauterization so Tikosyn (dofetilide) can be used during this period. Additionally, sometimes it takes the combination of Tikosyn (dofetilide) or other anti arrhythmic to maintain normal sinus rhythm post ablation
