period was early last month and started on the 9th when the month before it started on the 20th. will it go back to normal this month?

Possibly..: Hard to say for sure though. You're still of the younger age group where periods can be a bit unpredictable in terms of how long your cycles are, how long the bleeding is, and when exactly you do start to bleed. Don't be too alarmed if it doesn't come exactly when you expect it to.
