Could be serious: This could be something as simple as a pulled muscle or could be a serious sign of disease: such as heart disease, kidney problmes or spleen problems. It would be best to get a physical exam to further explore this complaint

Type of chair: As well as how you are sitting in it may be the cause. If you are not sitting fully facing forward, the chair back may be leaning against your back muscles and that is what you notice when you rise. If this persists after adjusting your posture while sitting, see your provider for other options.
