Possible: Herpes viruses are spread by direct contact. The HSV1 virus can be spread by kissing, sharing a drinking glass, or using someone else lipstick. You certainly want to avoid contact with an open sore or blister, but the virus can also be spread before any symptoms develop, so technically yes, infection is possible.
