For what purpose: If it's pregnancy you wish to prevent, birth control pills, properly used, are more reliable. If it's sexually transmitted disease you wish to prevent, condoms win hands down, because the pill does absolutely zero for that. If it's both you are interested in preventing, then the answer is use both together!
