Bacteremia symptoms: A healthy patient should notice bacteria entering the blood stream in the form of shaking chills followed by fever. The problem of bacteria in the blood stream is severe, so the body should react with a strong response. The problem comes in when the patient is weaker and maybe cannot respond so well. There may be no fever at all in fact for very weak pts. Best way to check is with blood cultures.
