Do routine blood tests check for diabetes? i've been more fatigued and noticed a change in vision; is this anything to worry about?

Definitely : I think you are doing the right thing to get tested for diabetes but I am sure your physician is likely to be thorough and do a general wellness exam too

Usually: One of the most frequently ordered blood tests, is a Chem-7, or basic metabolic profile. In addition to electrolytes & kidney function, the test usually measures the glucose (blood sugar), which is used to diagnose diabetes. The level suggestive of diabetes, depends on when you ate, but if normal, it makes diabetes less likely. Continue to see primary doctor regarding fatigue & vision.
