A member asked:

Doc,why does it happen that peptic ulcer is most common in blood group o and gastric carcinoma in blood group a??!!

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Minor mystery: This remains a puzzler, but is probably important that helicobacter binds to the blood group antigens on the cells of the inner surface of the stomach, and is the not-altogether-understood factor in the development of both illnesses. Perhaps some of my teammates in gastroenterology can clarify.
