Unfortunately - yes: Your symptoms are common among postpartum women especially if not using an oral contraceptives. Modern OCPs do not interfere with breast feeding if the milk is well established nor does it have significant passage in the milk. They will help reduce the bleeding, pain and heaviness. At 6 weeks you are due to see your OB, so discuss this and find a solution that is best for you.
