Can i take metformin 500 mg one and half tablet twice a day instead of taking it three times a day?

Not Common: Never break a tablet..can cause esophagus complications. Never 3 times a day either with food. Must be taken 2x a day. Perhaps alternate one day 1 2x, and next 1 500mg Metformin 3x a day
