Examination: If for no other reason than your own peace of mind, go see your Primary Care Physician for an examination. Statistically chances are you're fine. Let your MD/DO take a look and then describe to you exactly what he/she is seeing. The worse thing you can do is delay...go now.

Cancers grow: The natural history for most cancers, tonsillar cancer included, is to grow if left untreated. A small bump next to the SCM muscle can indeed be a lymph node. A good physical exam by your physician can provide many answers and is a great place for you to start.
