Depends on Stage: Hi. Recurrence rates for papillary thyroid cancer (PTC) are low overall. Recurrence does depend on PTC staging. I don't know any details about your cancer, but the endocrinologist running your case (who arranged the radioactive iodine therapy) should be able to tell you the stage and give you some sense of risk of recurrence. You probably have a very good prognosis! To your health!
