A member asked:

I'm on dialysis w/ irregular cycles my boyfriend and i want to have a baby anything i can take to have regular periods and ovulation?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

See the nephrologist: I would highly recommend you see your nephrologist before trying to conceive. Pregnancy increases your blood flow and cardiac output which delivers more blood flow to the kidneys (yours are obviously compromised). Patients on dialysis have a higher miscarriage rate and higher preterm labor rate. There are meds to take but most reproductive doctors would want the blessing from your nephrologist.
