Antibiotic for GI : Usually they recommend a different antibiotic prior to surgery if you are already on one. Sometimes, because the dose is only one exposure they may continue the same drug regiment.

ClostridiumDifficile: Sorry you have had c-diff enteritis. This is a very rare condition, but it could happen. Treat the c-diff infection completely and try to avoid antibiotics in the future that may predispose to c-diff infection. Take care.
