Absolutely: Yes! The best way to combat "Gerd", more commonly known as heartburn is by dietary modification. Foods that cause Gerd are not true allergens but rather "irritants". Try avoiding foods such as alcohol, spices, chocolate and mint. Different foods affect different people, try experimenting with your diet.

GERD : Not really.. GERD is not due to food allergy. Certain foods do cause relaxation of the lower esophageal sphincter and worsen GERD Symptoms. Coffee chocolate, etc among them. Avoid or minimize those foods will decrease your GERD symptoms. You may still need medication and if still persistent GERD despite treatment may need endoscopy.
