Discuss with surgeon: Everybody is different in terms of rehab from such a surgery. It also depends upon the relative complexity of the procedure, any complications encountered, progress of patient through rehab, etc. If you are concerned about this time frame or the work you would be going back to then, I would discuss things with both your PMD as well as the surgeon. Make docs fully aware of your job duties.
