Just back from holidays in florida my daughter has a temperature and got little sores on her lips and tongue with white centres. could it be serious?

Fever blister or: Canker sores are quite common and often look like you describe. A virus could be the cause. Because of the fever, it's not likely to be only dry mouth - but flights can cause that. See her doctor for exam and treatment. Hope you had a good visit and trip.

Viral infection: Your daughter seems to be having infection ,probably -viral illness on the tongue and lips .This will take 3-4 days to get better. She may be having pain and difficulty in eating ,so give her cold drinks and sweet semisolid food such as ice cream .May apply some soothing lotion on the tongue and lips . This is not serious infection .
