Calcium high: Most cases of high calcium are related to the presence of a benign parathyroid adenoma which is detected by measuring PTH. There are other less common causes of elevated calcium which are differentiated again by different levels of the PT hormone (PTH).

Not an urgent need: You may want to followup with the provider who recommended the lab work beyond the happyily reassuring conclusion - just so you understand and don't worry. It's okay.
