Need followup: Hyperplasia is the first of 3 stages in the process of tumor formation, the next stage is dysplasia and then the neoplasia = tumor. There are a few types of neuroendocrine cells in the stomach, depending on which area of the stomach, those in the antrum are G and D cells. So, neuroendocrine hyperplasia of the antrum means that some of those cells are undergoing abnormal proliferation (growth).
