Not recommended: Ibuprofen is not usually recommended under the age of 2 unless prescribed by your doctor. Tyelnol is generally safe and there are infant drops available that should be carefully measured for your child's weight. Other things that may help are cold foods, and ice soaked cloth for teething and they make teething rings that can be kept in the refrigerator. If not helping, talk with your peds doc.

Teething: Talk to your pediatrician. Do not give any medication to your baby unless it is prescribed by your doctor.

No: There is concern about it's effect on the kidneys which continue to form/mature after birth.This med is disposed of through the kidneys, so letting them develop completely before use decreases any chance of toxic effects.We do consider use after 6 mo but never before.Chill some teething rings and rotate them as needed.Treatment should never be more dangerous than the problem
