Back pain at night: May be reflux Ibuprofen can worsen it . Hold the ibuprofen/aleve for a few days and take ranitidine 300 mg at night Elevate head of bed - pillow under mattress, avoid alcohol, caffeinated drinks, chocolate , spicy foods, smoking , eating , within 2 hours of bedtime and see if it changes. Other causes vascular / cardiac, rarely pancreas(mass) or gallbladder F/u/ w/ MD get EKG, CT abdomen

Back pain : Mid back pain between the shoulder blades is common from the stomach, pancreatitis, heart. It may be from the mid back from arthritis, disc problem or pathological fracture, and muscle strains. You should see a doctor.
