Consider hypnosis: If you have trouble falling asleep you should learn about hypnotherapy. It is something anyone can learn, takes just a session or two and can help you without using medication at all. It also reduces stress. Find a qualified psychologist to help you learn how hypnosis can help.

Sleep hygiene: 1. Make sure that prior to bed you are not engaged in stimulating activity, including tv 2. Ensure consistent bedtime 3. Try not to stay in bed for more than 15 minutes awake/alert every night- this makes falling asleep difficult - get up and do something relaxing such as simple reading for a brief few minutes and go back to bed and try again - this does take effort but is effective.
