Relax: A lump on the shin which hasn't changed in five years is not at all likely to be any kind of malignancy. Cancers don't just sit there; they get worse. Get it checked, of course, but cancer is most unlikely.

Osteosarcoma: Bone pain is the most common symptom of an osteosarcoma. When in a leg bone, it often results in a limp because of the pain. Swelling is not as common. However, if you have an undiagnosed swelling, it would be worth discussing with a doctor.
