Should be uncommon: Injury to the duodenum during right colectomy should be considered a technical complication and is a known but fortunately uncommon complications. Treatment depends on the timing of diagnosis, severity of sepsis and extent of injury. If recognized at the time of surgery, repair may be successful, but generally injury leads to infection and treatment involves drainage, antibiotics and nutrition
