Hygiene: The child has inflammation of the penile skin, likely due to not cleaning under the foreskin. If the foreskin is easily retractable, you may cleanse the head gently. Do not force the foreskin. If it does not retract easily, please consult your doctor for evaluation and suggestion about hygiene.

Don't force it back: It is normal for the foreskin to not retract at this age. The foreskin of an uncircumcised boy is often fully retractable by age 5-7, but sometimes it can take until age 10-12. You should not retract your son's foreskin with force at this age.His symptoms could be from adhesions, dermatitis, or a yeast infection. I suggest that he be seen by a doctor.
