Cotton ball: Don't waste your tea. It does nothing to stop bleeding faster. Get yourself some gauze pads and it will work the same if not better.

Controlling bleeding: I recommend using moistened tea bags to patients all the time when patients have no sterile gauze, when they run out of gauze or when they need something more effective than plain gauze. The Tannic acid in tea made from actual tea leaves acts as an astringent to help control bleeding (along with normal pressure) & should do the trick. However, Chamomile tea bags will be less effective; can be used

Definitely, yes: A certain amount of bleeding is to be expected following surgery. Slight bleeding, oozing, or redness in the saliva is not uncommon. Excessive bleeding may be controlled by first rinsing or wiping any old clots from your mouth, then placing a chamomile tea bag over the area and biting firmly for 30 minutes. You will stop bleeding.

Regular tea is bette: Its the Tannin in the tea that helps control bleeding. I don't think chamomile tea has much if any tannin

Use it: It's the tannin in regular tea, combined with gentle pressure from biting on tea bag, that slows oozing. If Chamomile is all you have, use it for the pressure effect.
