Need more info.: Any history of trauma, weight lifting, squads, a fall, is there any tingling or numbness associated with the pain? For how long had the pain been there? Are you limping? What have you done to make it better?

Sounds like: A pulled or strained muscle. Try gentle stretching. Ibuprofen or aleve (naproxen) and ice or heat whichever feels the best. If not better you will need an eval and might benefit from physical therapy.
