A member asked:

I have a small white patch on the corner of my iris. it does not affect my vision. anyone have any insight to what this is?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Pterygium : A picture or certainly an exam will be most helpful. A whitish growth of tissue usually in the inner corner of the eye with subtle blood vessels probably is a pterygium. Although it appears in the iris, it is actually on the transparent cornea. Other possibilities exist and an exam is necessary.
