Medication: There are medications your doctor can prescribe to relax your bladder and relieve your feeling to go, as long as she or he makes sure you are not retaining urine after voiding. The easiest way to do this is by a bladder sonogram using a bladderscan machine, generally available in a urology office. This way you will not need to be catheterized to find any residual urine. There should be no infection.

You may need: retesting including a urine culture with ID & Sensitivity to see what antibiotic is best for your infection.

UTI: Urinary frequency from a UTI is a response in the bladder to irritation. You may not have been treated long enough or the bacteria that you have may be resistant to the antibiotic you were given. I would suggest getting a urine culture with antibiotic sensitivity. Your doctor can also prescribe pyridium (phenazopyridine) to ease the symptoms provided you are not pregnant.

See doctor: and have urine rechecked to make sure the infection is cleared up. If it is cleared you may have an overactive bladder or bladder spasms and there are medications that can help.
