Many possibities: Would be helpful to know the reason for and type of thoracic surgery, but the major fear is infection. Your thoracic surgeon is well trained to deal with issues like this and also can call infectious diseases experts in consultation if they feel this is needed.

Many possibilities: Way too many reasons for fever after thoracic surgery. ? What was the surgery for? Atalectasis -(incomplete re-expansion of the lungs air-sacs) infection -many possibilities (pneumonia, blood, urine, incision, etc) those would be the first thoughts.
