Not true: The combination of calcium channel blocker and a diuretic is well established as safe and very effective in controlling severe hypertension and from extensive clinical trials in the past ten years ,there is no indication of increase cardiac events with the use of either drugs alone as long as electrolytes particularly potassium is monitored with the diuretic use
