Yes, BUT: It would be best for you to get an internal exam which would most likely NOT be done at the time of a heavy menses. So if you can re-schedule when not menstruating, that would be best. You can ask to get any blood work done before your exam, and then they would be ready and be able to be discussed at the time of your visit. Best wishes to you.

Heavy period: It's probably a good idea to reschedule, it will be easier to perform a physical exam and any other testing that may need to be performed can be ordered or done at that time.
