Is an external fixator or breaking the bone and adding an extra piece and then plating it more successful in fixing an 8mm ulna length difference?

Both have been: used. An xfix works well as it uses a periostial sleeve 2 bride the gap, which forms new bone. Cutting and auto grafts with compression plating also works. The method used depends on the training & experience of the individual orthopedic surgeon.
