Is cancer typically bright white on an mri? i thought cysts and fibroids usually showed up not so brightly on an mri.

Depends: Bright white depends on how the scan was done and as we say what sequence you see it on. If on a T2 type sequence then there are still other possibilities such as fluid and cysts to name a few. It is best to look at what you are talking about. Talk your doctor for a more definitive approach to what they saw.
