Many symptoms: The main symptom areas are lack of focus/attention, impulsive behaviors, and physical hyperactivity. Many of these things are normal in young children- child really needs formal testing and evaluation to see if their symptoms are outside norms for age. If properly diagnosed, then there are both behavioral interventions and prescribed medications that can be beneficial, but must be individualized!

Easily distracted: The name is fairly descriptive. The child will have trouble paying attention - not only to things they don't enjoy! (That's another issue). Even from an activity they love, they can be distracted easily. The hyper part is also more than being physical and full of energy. It's annoying even to the child. Even w/ this tighter Dx, I'd try good Child Therapy before drugs. But, they may be needed. Best
