Root canals: An endodontist is a dentist that has received 2-3 yrs of extra training and education in diseases of the pulp and dental abscesses. They are experts in root canals, surgery to remove abscesses, oral pain, root anatomy and pulp health and diagnosis. Most endodontists are trained to operate microscopically, giving exceptionally high level of care.

Root Canal: Endodontics is the dental specialty dedicated to the diagnosis, treatment, teaching and researching root canal care. Root canal infections are problems that occur when bacteria invades the tooth through decay, periodontal disease, trauma or anachoresis. This infection may be painful or not. If not treated it may result in the loss of the tooth. Most common symptom is lingering pain to temperature.
