Can you explain common endodontic procedures?

Sure!: Endodontists remove the nerve of the tooth usually because the nerve has died and there is an infection. The usually make a hole in the top of the tooth, and use very small instruments to take out the nerve, blood vessels and all the infection inside the tooth. Sometimes they have to go in under the gum, and the roots tip, to get all the infection out.

Yes: By "common endodontic procedures", i assume you are referring to root canal procedures. Root canal therapy is usually initiated to eliminate infection with the root canal of a tooth. The diseased tissue is removed, the canal is made bigger in diameter and the canal is disinfected. Once this is done a root canal sealer and filling is placed. The procedure is done under local anesthesia.

Endodontics: Simply put the endodontic procedure is the removal of an infection and preparation of the space in which the infection occurred for a filling material. Once prepared the space is sealed with the filling material to block the process of reinfection. Occasionally this process is not to remove an infection but to build up the tooth to facilitate the process of placing a crown.

Root Canal Therapy: is one of the most common procedures in dentistry. This simple treatment can save your natural teeth and prevent the need for dental implants or bridges. Fortunately, modern anesthetics allow root canal treatments to be done virtually pain-free.
