Half life 6 hours: If Lidocaine with epinephrine was administrated, your lips and tongue will be numb for 3-6 hours from the time of injection. However it is not unusual that the anesthesia is up to 10 hours. If concerned call your dentist for more information.

Should have worn off: Lidocaine is a short acting local anesthetic, 45 min. to 1.5 hrs. There are instances when anesthetics last much longer than expected. The effects wear off incrementally. That is, you may get partial feeling back to some areas before others. Lastly, the procedure the anesthetic was used for may cause numbness by temporarily or permanently damaging nerves.
