A member asked:

Elevated alkaline phosphatase value of 125 u/l. is this a sign of primary biliary cirrhosis? could the level be due to my hep b?

High level,,,: This is a high level for alkaline phosphatase certainly, but to say it's from primary biliary cirrhosis is harder as there are other things like high bilirubin and symptoms like itching and jaundice (yellow skin) and antibodies like anti-mitochondrial antibodies. It also could be due to Hep B or any increased liver activity or other things and it's not that high so see your Dr. For other tests.

So slightly elevated: in most labs, the cutoffs are ~115. in isolation (nl bili, GGT?) would not worry about it - but monitor. get the HBV treated if that's warranted.
