Antibiotics: If antibiotics clear the symptoms of a disease, then it is likely that the disease was bacterial in nature. However, that does not mean that it is 100% that one does not also have a viral condition (such as herpes), just that it was likely not causing the symptoms.

Yes: Herpes is not responsive to antibiotics. whereas bacteria are,. Make sure you take the antibiotic till it is gone even if you are feeling better,
