A member asked:

I am 62 years old and i'm going for my colonoscopy did i wait too long?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Probably: If nothing is found that is fine. All too often waiting a long period of time, that is when colonoscopy should at least be initiated at age 40, one finds that there is a fully developed malignancy. Colon cancer is a frequently occuring lesion best detected by colonoscopy at a time when the growth is in the polyp stage of development and this can only be detected by colonoscopy
