Screening not needed: Assuming there is no family history of colon cancer or current symptoms, it would be inappropriate to undergo a screening colonoscopy at such a young age.

No, no: If a colonoscopy is indicated, then do it. There are side-effects for every procedure, but if one is being recommended, then the benefit most likely outweighs the risk.
