Possibly: A number of lesions can develop behind the uvula which is the tag of flesh hanging down from the posterior soft palate. The lesions there can represent a minor salivary gland tumor in the posterior oropharynx, lymphoid tissue that has hypertrophied or even a squamous cell lesion. If it does not disappear it should then be biopsied. To resect if necessary requires transhyoid pharyngotomy.
