Food plate: Think of your plate as a round plate. Half of the plate should be filled with vegetables and fruits. A quarter of the plate should be protein such as lean meat. the other quarter should be a whole grain/complex carbohydrate. Milk or water for beverage. Two snacks a day that are protein or dairy - for instance nuts, yogurt, cheese, peanut butter on celery sticks.
